Extension Elevator Speeches

An Elevator Speech Contest is conducted annually at the National ESP Conference. You are encouraged to participate and share your Extension Story.

Topic: Focus on all of Extension   (not topic areas)

Length: Limit to 30 seconds or less (about 75 words) max

How to enter and win: Record your speech during the announced recording sessions at the National Conference. Winners announced during the conference Closing. A cash prize is usually offered annually.

2018 National Conference Elevator Speeches

Each year conference attendees participate in an elevator speech contest to tell the Extension story.

Katrina Mitchell, AL / Alpah Pi Chapter, won 1st place.

Melinda Garcia, Texas / Alpha Zeta Chapter, sang her way into 2nd place with her elevator speech.

Each year this contest is coordinated by the ESP National Pubic Issues Committee. All taping is done at the conference.

Erin Yelland, Kansas / Alpha Lambda Chapter, was the 2018 3rd place winner.

All winners received a cash prize.
