Membership Recruitment and Retention Committee

Committee Goal 1: Motivating and Communicating with Chapter Membership Chairs to Increase Chapter Membership

  • Use National ESP website, e-newsletter and Connection Newsletter to share membership materials with chapter membership chairs and/or other chapter leaders
  • Be visible at the National ESP Conference in 2019 with a poster, oral presentation or written materials
  • At least twice a year have communication between committee members and state chapters in their region.
  • Conduct webinar on how to use the recognition program to increase excellence in your chapter and encouraging chapter membership renewals. 
  • Collect and share retention ideas from chapters to attract more life members, including immediate communication with new life members about a “welcome” and articles in the Connection Newsletter.

Committee Goal 2: Examining and Increasing Diversity of ESP Membership

  • Reach out to chapter presidents and membership chairs to encourage membership from 1890s and 1994 institutions.
  • Work with the Latino Affinity Group and Urban Affinity Group on methods to increase ESP membership.
  • Collect and share recruitment ideas from chapters to attract more staff of the Millennial generation  into ESP.
  • Plan and host first timers/life members event at National Conference

Committee Goal 3: Recognizing Chapters for Membership Recruitment and Retention Excellence

  • Standardize metrics used to evaluate the awards and share with chapter leadership well ahead of the application deadline
  • Administer a membership recognition program to recognize excellence in membership recruitment and retention and increase the number of chapters submitting award applications from 17 to 20.
