National efforts are underway to secure a U.S. postal stamp issued in recognition of the "Father of Extension" Dr. Seaman A. Knapp. The 1999 National Epsilon Sigma Phi Board received information on the Knapp Stamp campaign from Dr. Knapp's great grandson, Dr. Roger Seaman A. Knapp of Irving, Texas. This is a wonderful tribute to one whose vision, educational outreach and leadership initially shaped the foundations of Cooperative Extension. Similar efforts achieved the issuance of a 55-cent Justin Morrill Definitve Stamp and self-adhesive pane of 20 in July. Cooperative Extension celebrated its 85th anniversary in 1999.
