Epsilon Sigma Phi recognized three National Friends of Extension at the 1999 National Conference. These are (Left to Right) Billy Ray Smith, Commissioner of Agriculture in Kentucky; Alvin Fjeldheim, local government official in South Dakota, and Nancy Patterson, Ohio's 4-H Foundation former president. These awards were presented by National President-Elect Laurel Kubin.
ESP National Scholarships for the National Conference were awarded to three retirees, one Extension administrator and one early career first timer.
