Bio/background on Friends of Extension

• John O'Brien retired in 1993 from a 38 year career in management and sales. He aptly served as president of the Pennsylvania Council of Cooperative Extension Associations for four years.

• Dorothy Montgomery is a retired elementary teacher and a current county commissioner who has been an Extension volunteer for 43 years. Her efforts were a major force in obtaining funding from the county government body to hire a fourth county Extension agent during a time when most Extension budgets were being cut. She served Ohio as chair of the Ohio Extension Advisory Council and led that delegation on visits to the nation's capitol.

• Patty Ann Moorhead has a life long dedication to improving the quality of life for families. She was an instructor at 12 Family and Community Leadership Workshops in her home state plus additional workshops in four other states. She was a recipient of the Kentucky Governor's Award for Volunteerism.

Southern Region Distinguished Team Recognized

This team from the University of Georgia worked on the project "Development of a Regional Horticulture Center and Gardens Focusing on Plants for the Coastal Area. The program involved the development of a non-profit support group that raised nearly $50,000 over to years to support the project.
