Communicators in Education (ACE)
Ukraine Partnership
http://www.aceweb.org

ACE is an international association of communicators and information technologists. ACE members are writers, editors, photographers, graphic designers, videographers, electronic media producers, marketing and public relations practitioners, researchers, web developers, database programmers, distance education specialists, educators and managers. They work in universities, government agencies and research organizations in the public sector, as well as companies and firms in the private sector.

On August 20, 2002 the Board of Directors of  ACE approved a working relationship with Agro-Soyuz. Ashley Wood, President of ACE and Volodymyr Khorishko, Director of Agro-Soyuz signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Through this Memorandum of Understanding, ACE members will work with Agro-Soyuz to develop communication channels to effectively disseminate information on crop and livestock production, grain drying and storage that is being accrued by Agro-Soyuz.

Until now interested Ukrainians have been visiting the Farm Resources Center in Dnipropetrovsk to obtain information and to see a practical model of state-of-the art practices in dairy, swine, crop production and grain drying and storage. The next phase of development is to disseminate the information throughout 85 affiliates that Agro-Soyuz has established throughout the entire country. This would provide access to current agricultural information to all producers on an on-going basis.

The Memorandum of Understanding will facilitate the development of a programs between Agro-Soyuz and ACE. In the future, members of ACE will travel to Ukraine to work with Agro-Soyuz staff. Neonila Martyniuk is the Task Force Coordinator for ACE in the ACE/Agro-Soyuz Project.

Ever get the feeling that you have a higher calling? You know... That you have a special purpose on this earth? You're not interested in the corporate world, SUV's or IPO's. In fact, if you had the chance, you would surely save the world... Well maybe not the world, but some small part of it. Volunteering abroad is one way to make a difference. Volunteering abroad is not for everyone, so before you sign up for the Peace Corps or another similar program there are a few things you should consider. Often it helps to check out information from a group like IVPA which provides many different resources about volunteering abroad.

Bringing the Land O’Lakes Difference to International Development

Since 1981, Land O’Lakes International Development Division has been making a difference in people’s lives and local economies. Through projects that are customized to meet our client’s specific needs, we address a broad range of objectives including enterprise development, food security, health and nutrition, policy reforms, community development, democracy initiatives and natural resource management.

Land O’Lakes applies an integrated approach to international development that capitalizes on our 80-year history as a leading farm-to-market agribusiness. Land O’Lakes International Development Division brings this difference — our in-depth knowledge of crop, livestock and dairy production, marketing, business management and cooperative principles — to every international development project. And through this approach, we help implement successful and sustainable projects, create profitable businesses and drive economic growth worldwide.
