Financial Education Simulations in Tennessee

Over the past four years, Tennessee Extension agents have reached more than 60,000 high school and junior high students with financial education simulations conducted in partnership with community organizations and volunteers. Evaluations show that sixty percent of those students made changes in their career plans as a result.
Teaching Healthy Lifestyle Habits through Games and Laughter

Attitudes for Success Multicultural Leadership Program

Targeted for the increasing number of Hispanics in Umatilla and Morrow counties, "Attitudes for Success" provides multicultural, educational experiences for youth in grades 6-12. Evaluations indicate participants are more likely to attend college and serve in leadership roles because of knowledge gained in the program.
Citizen Board Development

Alpha Lambda Chapter received a Mini Grant to provide Citizen Board Development Training for Extension personnel. Two trainings were presented where participants had the opportunity to learn from Public Policy Educator, Michael McKinney, as well as interact in small group discussions and activities.
Participants included campus, field and retired personnel. The mini-grant was matched by the Purdue Director so handout materials and lunch could be provided.
North Carolina's Changing Face: A Professional Development Seminar for Cooperative Extension Professionals

North Carolina's demographics are changing. The population is rapidly becoming more urban, diverse and technologically connected. Through an innovative ESP-mini-grant-funded professional development seminar, 80 Extension professionals gained a better understanding of these changes, how the trends affected their careers and how they can help meet the needs of non-traditional audiences.
