The Ohio Meat Goat Task Force is a model for engaging resources and building leadership capacity to generate income and enhance sustainability of farm businesses. The collaboration of multi-disciplinary faculty, producers, allied industry, ethnic cultures, and other agencies combines expertise and leadership with applied experience to foster entrepreneurship.
REACHING LIMITED RESOURCE FAMILIES THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS

Partnerships are key to the success of the Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP). This poster session will look at all of these partnerships, with emphasis on how FSNEP can partner with disciplines other than nutrition education. Developing and maintaining relationships will be addressed.
THE LEADERSHIP ORIENTATION OF FCS PROFESSIONALS AND THE EFFECTS OF FUNCTIONING OF ISSUE TEAMS

This program will present outcomes of an investigation of leadership orientation of Extension FCS professionals and the functioning of issue teams. The results will build a connection between Extension teams, Bolman and Deal leadership orientation and indicators of success. The program provides recommendations for implication and topics for future research.
EXTENDING EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH TO CENTRAL ASIA

The University of Maryland conducted two projects funded by the U.S. Department of State to help Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan universities extend their educational outreach. Through these projects, faculty exchanges helped them understand how Extension works and assisted them in developing Extension programs that helped farmers improve production, marketing, and profits.

Does etiquette really matter? Professor Emeritus Marino began The Etiquette Center in Richland Center, WI in October, 2004. Working with ages 4 to adult, she understands that the need for etiquette training is universal. She will teach "5 Tips to Outclass the Competition and Have Fun Doing it."
THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE IN YORK COUNTY

Seventy-five community members joined to help identify concerns and barriers critical to survival and growth facing local farmers. Information was analyzed from focus groups and personal interview surveys of farmers. Community leadership formed two Action Teams to proactively help agriculture thrive.

This poster is a mini-grant report for Kappa Chapter. Kappa Chapter co-sponsored a general session at Arizona Extension Annual Conference titled "Avoiding Political Landmines". The objectives were to provide information on a topic that is critical to our Extension system, and to gain awareness of the benefits of belonging to ESP.

PLANT EDUCATION PROGRAM MAGNIFIES IMPACTS THROUGH TRAIN-THE-TRAINER APPROACH

The Colorado Native Plant Master Program magnifies impacts through a train-the-trainer approach. Extension staff target volunteer educators from other public agencies to participate in program courses. Since 1997, course graduates have multiplied the knowledge they gained by educating 60,159 members of the public and by impacting 23,287 acres.
USING VIDEO TELECONFERENCING TO PRESENT DIABETES EDUCATION

With declining human resources, Extension Educators are challenged to find innovative ways to deliver education to the public. Using video teleconferencing (VTC) technology, Extension Educators presented an interactive type 2 diabetes diet education program, The Healthy Diabetes Plate, by simultaneously broadcasting in four rural counties to live audiences.

Building partnerships is never easy; however, the Lane County Food Pantry Project has brought together Extension faculty, volunteers, and FOOD for Lane County to focus on a critical issue - Hunger. Extension faculty train volunteers to assist food pantry shoppers in the best utilization of foods available from the pantry.
M-STEP (MISSISSIPPI STUDENTS TOGETHER EXPLORING POSSIBILITIES)

Leadership, Citizenship, and Team Building are just some of the positive things that M-STEP (Mississippi Students Together Exploring Possibilities) learn about as part of the M-STEP program. Using the "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" high school juniors are trained to work together, analyze situations, start with the end in mind, sharpen the saw, and think win-win.
WILDLIFE MASTERS USERS SURVEY

Clients who requested help from the 18 CSU Wildlife Master Volunteers in Boulder County were surveyed about their program satisfaction. The scientific survey was approved through the CSU Internal Review Committee. 133 surveys were mailed confidentially. Fifty surveys (38% return rate) were returned. Survey and survey results will be shared.

4-H AFTERSCHOOL - GATEWAY TO OPPORTUNITY

The 4-H Afterschool initiative in Franklin County developed a three prong approach to extend 4-H to youth in afterschool programs. First, 4-H staff presented programs; second, afterschool staff was trained in curricula; third, participating youth will have the opportunity to participate in activities offered to youth enrolled in 4-H community clubs.
MINI-SABBATICALS - A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY

The focus on both experiences was on better reaching Hispanic audiences. How to's including funding and set up will be addressed.
